Air Pippen Shoes
The classic and long anticipated White/Metallic Silver/Black Nike Air Pippen 1 Retro is back. A pretty faithful retro of the OG, We first showed you back in February the return of the Nike Air Pippen I in its original White/Black/Metallic Silver colorway here.Very recently, the Nike Air Pippen 1 released in a White/Metallic Silver colorway that’s nearly identical to the one the Hall of Famer wore on the court. Now this pair, which will look terrible with your throwback Pippen jersey, is now available at Nike Store.
This colorway is rather interesting and very cool to the eyes considering that these don’t match up with any of Pippen’s teams. The Bulls, Rockets, and Blazers have entirely different colors. Nike always does something for a reason, so we might not know the explanation for these. The shoes upper is made of white leather, while dark grey appears on the Nike swoosh and the Air Max sole. Nike adds head turning orange accents to the outsole and the wavy stripes across the side of the sneaker. If you’re feeling these to become your own, you can pick up a pair now at select Nike retailers.
The Nike Air PippenI is best known for its full length visible air unit, and zig-zagging plastic supports that cut through the leather upper. It definitely takes you back to the older days of chunkier, big air basketball shoes which contrasts with recent movements towards lower cuts and more subtle Zoom Air (i.e. Zoom Kobe V). Ironically, Pippen actually grew to prefer Zoom Air, and requested it be included in the rest of his line.
This colorway has a white leather upper, with hits of metallic silver on the Nike and Pippen logos on the toebox, tongue and heel. The black outsole is broken up by finger-print patterned traction on the forefoot and an air unit window in the heel, both separated by a red Swoosh.
