ISM

The ISM – International Safety Management code was adopted by IMO
in November 1993 and included as chapter 9 in SOLAS on May 1994.

The need for such a code was evident for years due to lack of professional
seamanship and growing numbers of ship incidents.

The ISM code schedule of compliance is as follows:

To all passenger vessels (including high speed passenger craft) , oil tankers,
chemical tankers, gas carriers, bulk carriers and high speed craft of 500 gt
and over not later than the 1 July 1998.

To all other cargo ships and mobile offshore units of 500 gt
and over not later than 1 July 2002.

We at Meridian Marine Services have been involved with the implementation of the ISM
code for the past 10 years on various vessels, mostly passenger and high speed craft.

A ready made & simple (word format) system, you can adapt to your vessel
or fleet.
